GRAPHIC CLASSROOM'S Chris Wilson gives Macbeth : MY RECOMMENDATION: Highly Recommended Shakespeare has never been so accessible, so meaningful or approachable to the modern masses as it is in the Classical Comics’ adaptations. The different editions are elegant and beautiful – a true homage to The Bard. These are, simply put, the best comic adaptations of Shakespeare I have ever encountered. http://graphicclassroom.blogspot.com/search/label

JOHN FREEMAN from downthetubes.net says "Here at downthetubes, we think the advance pages from the project look great and Jon has clearly proven the right choice for bring Macbeth to life, successfully accommodating the demands of three different formats with consummate professionalism. Couple that with Nigel's colouring and Classical Comics surely has a winner on its hands. The interpretation Jon's brought to the text is bold and striking and should surely stir some young hearts and minds to take an interest in our beloved Bard of Stratford!"

Sir Derek Jacobi recommends Classical Comics for any student of Shakespeare

"The concept of Classical Comics is truly inspirational... The stage and page are brought vividly to life. The artwork of Jon Haward is both dramatically compelling and beautifully illustrative. His pictures illuminate the words to perfection and bring these great works leaping to mind and eye. This format is immediate, vital, energetic and engaging. Highly recommended for any student of Shakespeare!"

Sincerely,

Sir Derek Jacobi

Amanda Craig wrote a great review for macbeth in the Times May 30th 2008 http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/books/children

Quoting Benedict Nightingale, from The Times in an article dated 14th April 2008, "...the terrific cartoons that Jon Haward has drawn for Macbeth. His green-faced, red-eyed, scrubbily bearded witches are far nearer the hellish creatures that Shakespeare conceived than the prancing Glasgow chavs or glum Morningside housewives I've seen in the theatre. And his Macbeth is as formidable as he should be: a big, grim warrior who nevertheless sweats and ogles with horror at the spectral dagger or Banquo's blue, eyeless ghost. Haward has caught the play's terror and tension a lot better than many productions that I recall."
